Major Infrastructure Review

Yesterday's 2 hour Infrastructure Review Meeting involving Hayling and Langstone Residents' representatives, Havant Borough Council (HBC) & Hants County Council (HCC) was broad in scope and allowed all those present ample time to raise any subject germane to the group. Residents and residents' representatives had every opportunity to raise issues of concern. The conclusion from this first meeting is that HBC & HCC will undertake a complete study of Hayling Island's unique environment. We understand that this is the first such Review to be undertaken despite the warnings given since the 1980s that the A3023, as a key infrastructure element, was neither designed nor built for the vehicle lo

Havant BC seeks residents' views on dog fouling, dogs being off leads in open spaces or on our Blue Flag Beach as part of a consultation for the proposed Public Spaces Protection Order (PSBO). If accepted, the PSBO would replace the Borough's existing controls and any breaches could result in owners receiving a Fixed Penalty Notice fine of £75. Unfortunately this appears to have to be, yet again, completed online but if someone needs paper copies they should apply to the Council Offices. This link has both documents and the questionnaire: https://www.havant.gov.uk/news/who-let-dogs-out-public-consultation-dogs-open-spaces HIRA brought to HBC's our Councillors' attention last year the need

Just up the A3 is the promised Whitehill and Bordon new ‘Green Town’ proposing at least 3,350 new homes but it has still to be built. We have every right to ask not only about these allocations but also the countless unoccupied properties throughout London that have been bought as investments and kept unoccupied, driving London based employees to find homes elsewhere. If the Government can bully us, its electorate, into accepting a reduced quality of life by snatching our few remaining, accessible,
