Police Chief at URC Tonight

Tonight's Public Meeting hosts Chief Inspector of Hampshire Constabulary, Clare Jenkins, who will provide us with a presentation and opportunities for questions and ensuing discussion tonight at our URC 7:30 pm sharp, formally closing by 9:30 pm, refreshments are available thereafter. Don't pass up this opportunity to listen to and question our Police Chief.

CIL Bids Open

Application for moneys from Havant Borough Council's Community Infrastructure Levy funding for the period 2018-19 is open from June 29th - 10th August 2018. Please contact Havant BC directly for further enquiries as to how to apply and time scales involved.

Sinah Lane Letter

David Hayward, Havant BC Planning Policy Manager, notified HIRA of the following letter which residents had already posted on social media. Barratt's electronic outline map of its proposed development is available on application from HIRA. "The attached letter and leaflet was distributed to the immediate neighbours of the site and is I’m sure of interest to everyone on the Infrastructure Advisory Group mailing list. I believe it’s on social media already. We have not yet received a planning application for the site though obviously we anticipate one in the coming days/weeks. HIRA provides Hustings when residents can hear and question Election candidates’ platforms, plus observe performances that cannot be disguised. Following the Elections there was lengthy Facebook discussion, a few arguing that it was pointless to vote. This is a dangerous approach to take, leading to increasingly complacent Government at all levels. It also demonstrates failure to understand why generations lost their lives fighting for self-determination. Sadly, such attitudes are an easy way out, justifying disinterest in engaging with current affairs – locally or nationally.
