A Freedom of Information re how CIL moneys have been spent on Hayling was made by a HIRA Committee member April 12th 2019. CIL stands for Community Infrastructure Levy [financial charge/remuneration] on Developers for Council/the public's use - however it does not have to be spent even within the Borough. The Council's April 12th response is below. Note: 40 days within which to respond to the Council if you've any views or complaints.

It is not the intention of the CIL Regulations or our CIL Spending Protocol, that the CIL is spent proportionally across the borough. However, Hayling Island has been the recipient/allocated CIL Funds and further information is available to view on our website. For ease of reference, however, we have set the current CIL spends for Hayling Island out in the table below. Please note as it often takes a long time to implement a capital project, whilst funds have been allocated, most of this funding has yet to be spent:

For these details please contact HIRA directly hello@haylingresidentsassociation.co.uk

[1] We have been advised this project is not proceeding so the allocated funds will be returned to the pot

[2] Pot Building Request only as funds required in future years
