New Funding
Notice from Havant B.C. today:
New funding opportunity for Good Causes in Havant Borough!
VIP Invitation to local charities and community groups.
In March 2018 Havant Borough Council will be launching the Havant Community Lottery, a new way for charities and community groups in the Borough to raise essential funds. This weekly, online lottery will see 60% of every £1 ticket sale directly support the local community, more than double what the National Lottery gives.
On Tuesday 13th February we are holding a special VIP Good Causes Event for charities and community groups from across the Borough to come and find out more.
The Havant Community Lottery will support groups in two ways. As well as generating a pot of funding through which small grants can be awarded, groups can also register free of charge to become a Good Cause. Registered Good Causes will receive access to support and marketing materials as well as their own lottery link page, through which 50% of every ticket sold will go directly back to their group. This is a simple way to raise much needed funding to cover things many grants can’t, such as core costs and salaries. The opportunities are endless!
Trustees, board members, staff and volunteers are encouraged to come along and find out more about Havant Community Lottery, how it works and essentially how groups can benefit from the fundraising opportunities it offers. There will be a short presentation by Gatherwell, the organisation running the Lottery on behalf of Havant Borough Council, as well as members of the HBC Community Team who will be on hand to answer any questions. Lunch and refreshments will also be available. Groups must be providing service in the Borough and places must be booked, see below for details.
