Radio Interview for Hayling

Anthony Walker gave a 5 minute interview on Radio Solent yesterday morning, December 20th, on Julian Clegg's Radio Solent programme. He spoke up for why Hayling should be considered to be unique: not only is Hayling the largest cul de sac in England but with 17,000 plus residents and countless more seasonal visitors yet only one road on/off the Island, it should not take the proposed hundreds more houses until a thorough infrastructure review has been completed. He reminds listeners that this was promised some years ago but never done. He also reminds everyone - and we hope that politicians are listening - that there are at least 600,000 'derelict' buildings around the UK and we all know there are London properties kept empty for speculative gain. Anthony cited the fact that Hayling's medical centres are already working to capacity, and there is even talk at national level of medical 'hubs' being provided for 30,000 residents: Hayling's 17,000 plus residents - and seasonal visitors - could be required to go to Havant for medical care.
