Shortlisted coastal defence options for Langstone revealed

Residents are invited to find out about the Langstone coastal defence study which will identify options to reduce coastal flood and erosion risk to more than 100 homes in Langstone.

Two drop-in events are being held. The events are an opportunity to find out about the shortlisted coastal defence options, to meet the project team and to share your views.

The events are being held at:

  • Langstone Sailing Club, Tuesday 20 November, 4pm - 8pm

  • The Ship Inn, Langstone, Thursday 22 November, 6pm - 9pm

Many of the sea defences in Langstone are currently in poor condition and the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership (ESCP), on behalf of Havant Borough Council, is looking at ways to reduce coastal flood and erosion risk.

The ESCP will also look to identify opportunities to improve the public space along the waterfront and will be inviting the local community to share their aspirations for the area.

Councillor Tim Pike, Cabinet Lead for Finance and Regeneration, said: “The Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership is engaging with residents to discuss coastal defence options. Anyone who has an interest in the area is encouraged to get involved.”
