Disruption A3023 Langstone

Checking roadworks.org indicates that there are two roadworks planned: Southbrook Rd. and just north of Langbrook Close. One of these is for Southern Water:

Current status:

Planned work about to start

Work info last updated:

I rang Hampshire County Council Highways before 4pm this afternoon to establish exactly when the work is planned but only gained a Service Ticket and apparently their relevant Office's line was engaged and the office would close at 4:30 today, so no chance to ask when the work is taking place. Another call, this time to Southern Water, and they said they would call me back by 7pm once they've spoken with the team as to when they'll be working.

Following Portsmouth Water's public online apology for the severe disruption caused by their daytime work on the A3023 Langstone Rd. over a month ago, it is hard to understand how Hampshire County Council could have approved more maintenance work to be carried out on this vital stretch of road during normal daytime working hours including on a Saturday.

Anyone planning to use this stretch of road over the next few days should be aware that there will be traffic control lights at one point and a road narrowing at another point. If these works take place during the day time, particularly Monday-Saturday, complaints should be made by those affected to Hampshire County Council Highways Department as well as to both Southern Water and Portsmouth Water.
