SW Incidents Log

A HIRA member has created an Incidents Log for you and anyone else you know on Hayling, to note down any past (eg over last few years), current and future incidents caused by Southern Water's system failures eg burst pipes, tankers to empty holding tanks, overflows, WC backing up etc. We would like this to be returned to us asap after August 31st so that we have a record of such events on Hayling. Obtain your copy directly from us (eg via website contact form or following email) then email your log back to HIRA's hello@haylingresidentsassociation.co.uk or it can be printed/copied off, put into an envelope marked HIRA & left at one of our 4 drop boxes detailed on our website. Doctor Calling!

Yesterday's Meeting on Hayling's future Health provision was the first time that our local new, innovative Primary Care Network (PCN) plan has been shared, and Dr. Hannah Morgan Clinical Director and GP Lead for our new Network of Elms, Waterside, Emsworth Medical Practices, is very keen indeed to have discussions with residents and local groups in order to find how we can work together for everybody's better health. Please note: this is a very new scheme so it's important not to be cynical and to make the most of what we are being offered. For those who did not attend the Meeting, it was certainly not what many had expected. Dr. Morgan is keen to learn what local people's priorities are i

Windfall West Town

This sent in by a member concerned about West Town and the consequences of this next windfall. I've included their comments but do please check out the details for yourself & make any comments that you wish to directly onto the online Comment facility - and let other residents know about it together with your Councillors! If no-one comments on this or any Application then the assumption is that there are no views by residents. Incidentally it is exactly this kind of windfall that residents - both locally and nationally - have been so vocal against because, cumulatively, these are not factored in to a Local Plan yet their impact on our Infrastructure is, cumulatively, considerable. Langstone Tech Park:Re-Development

Today we received notice, from our neighbouring Langstone Residents' Association (LRA), of Havant Borough Council's plans to re-develop Langstone Technology Park PO9 1SA. HBC's Development Consultation Forum notice is reproduced for you below, explanation of which is in the letter itself. The Briefing Notes are available from HBC Planning Office (email below). The LRA Planning Officer notes the following re this Application: "HBC planners have forwarded the attached Notification of a Development Consultation Forum. This is the first detail we have of their thinking about the redevelopment of the facility. It appears the proposal is to demolish part of the original award winning Arup Ass

Forlorn Hope?

Residents are all too familiar with recurrent failures of Southern Water’s sewage system on Hayling Island. These must be constantly flagged up by press and the public because Southern Water assured Havant Borough Council and Hayling residents alike, at its 2017 presentation to Hayling Island’s Infrastructure Advisory Group, that its infrastructure was robust enough to cope with the Council’s proposed 1000+ additional homes set out in its Local Plan to 2036. For those living on Hayling there is ongoing and tangible evidence that Southern Waters’ assurances are not being met; yet again the sewer system failed. Successions of tankers deployed over several days in April at Hayling’s many pum
